Sexual violence and child abuse continue to rise in Santa Fe. In 2025 alone, reported
sexual assault cases increased 17.74% over the previous year, with further increases
expected. These crimes—ranging from lack of consent to sexual assault and child abuse
leave survivors and families facing long-term trauma and destabilize the wellbeing of our
community.

This fall, Solace will partner with the City of Santa Fe, First Judicial District Attorney’s
Office; Santa Fe Police Department; the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Program; the
Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office; and the New Mexico Coalition of Sexual Assault
Programs (NMCSAP) to host Voices for Change, a critical regional summit to be
held at the Santa Fe Convention Center, November 19, in response to our
community’s rising sexual violence. This critical community wide event brings together
leaders committed to advancing safety, healing, and justice across northern New Mexico.
Together, our goal is to strengthen northern New Mexico’s awareness and response to
sexual violence and child abuse.
